Chapter 2: Our Family is Growing AGAIN

September 4, 2014 By Katie

There’s a reason I’ve been MIA with blogging lately. Morning sickness? Check. Keeping the same sleep schedule as our 11 month-old? Check. High, happy mornings, and tear stricken afternoons? Check. Can you guess where I’m headed with this….

I’m PREGNANT. With another baby. Another baby BOY to be exact. Chapter Two is due this holiday season and our family couldn’t feel more blessed. It’s not all puppies and cupcakes though…we wouldn’t be human if there wasn’t an “oh shi*” moment or two when I took THAT pregnancy test.

Hi world! I’m baby Serbinski #2! Look at my cute little nose!

Most days of the week I feel ready for the next chapter. We have the baby’s name picked out, clothes (thank you for sharing Joey), cribs, car seats, etc. But I have those days when I hold Joey and think, “will you be ok with a sibling?” He will. And we will all be OK as a family. I’m sure we’ll have our moments (or so I’ve been warned), but I remind myself this is a season in time, and life will never be this way again. Working on embracing and ENJOYING!

21 weeks! This was taken a few weeks ago. There’s a baby in there— and he’s getting big!

This past year has brought on so many ups and downs, mainly with myself questioning my purpose both personally and professionally. I’ve prayed and prayed and prayed. Clearly God is smacking me in the face: I’m meant to be a Mom and raise a family! I know I’m also good at being a professional (registered dietitian), but I’m lucky enough to be able to focus my attention on one thing at a time, and right now it’s family (with a little bit of professional Katie mixed in).

The day we found out Chapter 2’s gender. All smiles from the home team!

Phew! Well that felt good getting it out there. So now it’s advice time: do you know anyone who has TWO babies less than 15 months apart? What advice do you have for this Momma?
