Online Grocery Shopping with Kroger’s ClickList

Here’s an inside look at my experience using ClickList, an online grocery ordering service from Kroger.

Before kids, grocery shopping was my outlet. Some women like purses, shoes, jewelry, or makeup. But I love food. And since I was working from my home office, I looked forward to that face-to-face contact with employees and patrons at my local Kroger store. Since having kids, my love for food has not changed. Grocery shopping however, well let’s just say it’s become an Olympic sport, especially when I have all three in tow! While I’ve found some ways to make grocery shopping with toddlers fun for all of us, some days it’s just plain old hard. And tiring. And… you get the picture [below].

While some days there’s no getting around taking one or three of my kids on a grocery shopping trip, Kroger has created a program that is JUST the solution I need when my cart has become over-flow-ith [literally]: Kroger’s ClickList. ClickList lets you order groceries online [from your computer or phone] and then you pick up your groceries at the store where employees load everything into your car. While there is a small fee for this service [price varies by location], the few dollars it cost at my local Kroger was WELL worth the blood, sweat, and tears that come with grocery shopping with toddlers. Ok, no blood is ever shed, but you better believe there are tears!

I placed my order from the ClickList website, which used my Kroger rewards number to populate items I purchase most often. Which was SO helpful because I pretty much buy the same groceries every week. For other items, I used the search bar and found exactly what I was looking for— brands and all!

Once I found all the items I needed, I chose a one-hour time-slot and location to pick-up my groceries over the weekend. In fact, I ordered our groceries on a Wednesday, and picked them up Sunday morning.

My order of 46 items were all available. But the ClickList employee let me know if there were a brand or item unavailable, she would substitute those products with comparable brands at the same price.

Needless to say, ClickList was SO easy. I had a harder time telling the kids that we couldn’t go inside the grocery store. They still were thrilled Mom let them help unload the groceries
