We are BIG on giving Michael choices. TWO choices to be exact.
Example: “Michael, you can either have a turkey sandwich or peanut butter sandwich for lunch. Which one would you like?” Because if we gave Michael the option of ANY sandwich for lunch, it might take him 20 minutes to choose OR better yet, the sandwich question could turn him into a mad man enraged by the thought of a sandwich for lunch.
You get where I’m going with this.
Today is Michael’s FIRST FULL DAY of school. I’m giving myself two choices. I can sit here, cry, miss my baby, think about all that’s happened in his 4.5 years of life [grief, sadness, loss].
Or I can sit here and choose light. Love. Positivity. And think about all the GOOD Michael brings to our family, our day, to everyone’s day.
No, this school year isn’t necessarily going according to Katie’s plan, but God always surprises us with the good, IF we choose to look for it.
Off my soap box. Done with me pep talk. Now it’s time to WORK!
