As summer comes to a close and the new school year is upon us, school lunch is the LAST thing on my mind. Seriously. All I can think about is early wake-ups, uniforms, drop-off logistics, and new teachers.

I don’t have to tell you twice what my kiddos are most excited about this upcoming school year. What Mom is going to pack for LUNCH! I.e. How many fruit snacks can Mom fit in my lunchbox.

Chips. We can’t forget the chips along with the fruit snacks!

While my kids are happy with the same thing for school lunch every day, I still find it helpful to have a cheat sheet taped in the pantry or pinned on my computer so I can easily reference ideas to pack lunch.

Alas, my school lunch cheat sheet! If your kids are older, they can look at the list themselves and pack with minimal help [ok, maybe some supervision].

If there’s one thing I want you to learn about ANY of my school lunch advice or posts, it’s this: don’t stress over school lunch.

I survived off of a sandwich, apple, and milk for 12 years, and it looks like my kids are on the same trajectory. School is filled with snacks [before and after school] and we all know kids verbalize their needs [loudly most of the time], so if they need a little extra of X or want less of Y, you’ll be sure to hear it.
