SOUP is ON in my house! So much so that I’ve put together a soup bin and bag… you know, because that’s what Mom should be focusing on right now. A soup BIN! Lol.

From recovery meetings to therapy appointments to exercise classes and 1:1 conversation with friends, it’s been suggested to be by many [clearly] to “look into” practicing meditation. And if you’ve spent any time with me, you know I pretty much don’t sit down or calm my mind from the time these brown eyes open until they shut. Phew! Sounds fun, right? But here’s the thing I’ve learned about calming this brain and body of mine: cooking, FOR FUN, does just that for me. I should really say cooking SOUP for fun [not my children lol] has been extremely meditative for me as of late.

One of my favorite soup cheat sheets I created back in 2014. Wow. I FEEL OLD! And hungry for some chicken noodle soup!

So, if you’ve been wondering WHY in the world the beef lady has now turned to the soup lady, well, I’ve found a lot of peace and serenity when it’s just me chopping, dicing, mixing, etc. in the kitchen. So much so that I’ve been wracking my brain as to how I can make SOUP my thing.

Kidding. But not really. I’m at my best when I’m feeding, loving, and nurturing others. Yes, I’m TRYING to focus that same love and care to myself [I keep some of the soup too!] but for some reason I can’t stop making soup. And giving it to those around me. If you’re into kitchen-self-care as much as me, then give one of these recipes a try. And if not, hit reply to this email and I’ll make you a bowl or two!

And here’s one more: 2 Beef Chili- no real recipe for this one, just some Ground Beef, Sirloin Steak [chopped], chili seasoning, onion, beans, and canned tomatoes.

And my cute little helper trying to read the label!

There will always be soup FOR YOU in my kitchen… [bad joke- but if you’re a Seinfeld fan, you get it!].
