Here are a few school lunch accessories that have helped me, a busy Mom of 4 school-age children, pack lunches with efficiency and ease each week.

As parents, we want to ensure our children have nutritious, appealing lunches at school. But packing those lunches can be a daily challenge- dare I admit it can get a little BORING packing lunch. However, life with 4 kids is far from boring, so I guess a monotonous task like packing 20 lunches every week is really nothing to complain about! [insert smile, sarcasm, and some truth!].

While most backpacks these days typically come with a lunch bag or box, my kids prefer either a brown paper bag, one of Mom’s old lunch bags [freebie from my conference travel days], or an old lunchbox that’s stood the test of time [aka a school year]. Yep. Kinda low maintenance over here when it comes to all things school lunch. And here’s why: the kids spend most of their lunchtime chatting with friends or congregating in the bathroom. And while I’d love for each of my children to pause and breathe between bites or conversations, I know lunch is a coveted time of day for both students and teachers.
I guess you could say I’m low maintenance when it comes to packing school lunches….
Over the past few school years, I invested in some lunchbox supplies/accessories on Amazon [because, Amazon] and found that a few products really stood out to me- and lasted or have been used among all 4 of my kids. PS. we’re going to be packing lunches as a TEAM this year- or so that’s my plan! Stay tuned…

And that’s it! The 3 BIG Amazon purchases I cannot live without when it comes to packing school lunches. I mean, I really can live without them… as long as there are Ziploc baggies and brown paper bags.

More about packing school lunches:
Remember, the best lunch gear is the kind that works for your family’s specific needs and your child’s preferences. With the right accessories in your arsenal, you can turn the daily task of packing school lunches from a chore into a creative and rewarding experience for both you and your child. Also, try not to stress about school lunch. It’s the “break” for your child during their busy school day, perhaps focus on packing a note, a sweet treat, or maybe an extra of your child’s favorite these first few weeks of school. It’s a transition for parents and kids alike- be KIND!
