Bumpdate: 41 Weeks Pregnant

July 20, 2016 By Katie

There are 3 things I want you to take away from this FINAL bumpdate:

1. I just cringed typing the title of this post. 41 weeks is a LONG time to be pregnant. And while I’m beyond lucky to be able to carry a child, 41 weeks is a LONG time to be pregnant, especially in the middle of one hot summer. You’ve got to give me that!

41 weeks pregnant... well technically 40 weeks and 6 days pregnant. But who is keeping count?!

2. I’m still on somewhat of a maternity leave from the blog [you can read more about that on Monday’s post] but I felt compelled to stop in and say hello! I’ve received countless messages from family, friends, and readers alike wondering, “where’s baby girl?!” I’m wondering the same thing! Truth is she’s heard a lot of yelling, truck and train smashing, and noises coming from her brothers during the last 41 weeks so I’m assuming she’s holding out as long as possible until she’s right in the middle of it all. Plus, there’s my pregnancy cravings [aka Chocolate Chex obsession]. Who would want to leave a party platter of Chocolate Chex and Goldfish?! Smart girl. Very smart girl…

I also made a batch of chocolate chip peanut butter oatmeal cookies this week so I don't think that helped my cause much for getting little sis OUT!

3. I’m having regular, strong contractions about 8-12 minutes apart as I’m writing this post. I’m also putting toddler #1 to bed [I think he just left his room for the 8th time tonight] while toddler #2 yells, “HI MOMMY!!!” every time I put toddler #1 back to bed. My hope is that you are reading this and I’m at the hospital while the two toddlers are sound asleep. Wishful thinking, right?!

When it comes to daytime activities, the boys call for Daddy. But when it's nighttime, they only want Mom. Think we can both divide our time among 3?! Wish us luck!!!

As far as bumpdates go, I think that’s all I’ve got left in me! If I’m not at the hospital while you are reading this [Wednesday, July 20th—> my actual 41 week mark], then I’ll definitely be there Thursday, July 21st, in the AM. That’s when I’ll be induced. I’ve been thinking I’d go before then for over a week now… but again, little sis has other plans. And if she’s anything like her brothers then this is just another part of motherhood I need to get used to. As yes, she’ll have lots of getting used to as well when it comes to the Serbinski boys’ noises, bodily functions, and rhinoceros obsession.

Thank you again for the messages, texts, emails, and calls. While I might not seem the most enthusiastic in my replies, I truly do appreciate the support and love for little sis already! Here’s to my next bumpdate—-> her big arrival!!
