15 Healthy Road Trip Snacks

May 25, 2022 By Katie

Heading out of town and preparing your family for a few hours on the road together? Be sure to pack one or more of these healthy road trip snacks!

It’s that time of year again… well, pretty much SNACKS in the Serbinski house require no time or destination requirement… but really, Memorial Day through Labor Day the foursome is doing some kind of travel that requires a. more than a few hours in the car and b. car-friendly snacks [i.e. healthy road trip snacks].

Any guesses on who is the hungriest in this car? How about who does the best car clean-up?

I’ve written on a few posts on traveling with kids and what snacks always seem to end up on our car floor…

30 Healthy Snacks for a Road Trip

Over the years [8 to be exact], I’ve decided there are some snacks that ALWAYS hit the mark. Hence why I’ve revamped my healthy road trip snacks list! But first… my biggest words of wisdom for you:

ALWAYS BRING A COUPLE OF TRASH BAGS or even a few large resealable plastic bags that each child can keep near their seat to throw their own trash in. This. Works. Wonders. Yes, some mess will still end up in your car seats or floors, but at least SOME of the mess or trash will be cleaned up before you reach your destination. I almost always do a trash-check at rest stops or bathroom breaks, which helps to minimize the final clean-up.

Now on to the fun stuff. My go-to list of healthy road trip snacks. Or healthy-ish road trip snacks as Lily likes to add an “ISH” to the end of everything these days…
