I’ve typed, deleted, typed and deleted the first paragraph of this post more than a handful of times tonight trying to describe how I’m feeling about being pregnant right about now. I’m hot. I’m tired. And pretty much always hungry. So put those two together and you’ve got yourself a cookie-monster-esc Momma who is thrilled at the fact she’s 37 weeks pregnant and about to meet her baby girl soon! Although I’m assuming my appetite won’t slow down any once I start nursing.
THIRD TRIMESTER BUMPDATE: JUNE 2016
Week Pregnant: 37 weeks. AND COUNTING! Not the numbers on the scale… just the days, hours, minutes, seconds until little sis is here.
Baby Happenings: Sis is head down and moving pretty much whenever I lay down [while the boys nap and then again at nighttime]. Otherwise I think our crazy toddler-filled-activity days have her rocked to sleep most of the day! While I’m sort of hoping she comes a week or at least a few days early, I have a feeling she’ll stay cooking longer… like her bros. On a fun note, we’ve decided on a baby name. I was worried we were going to bring the baby name book to the hospital with us! As far as the nursery goes, we are almost done there too. Just waiting on my Mr. Fix-It [aka Ted] to hang a few more pictures and then I’ll share a few with you!
Mom Updates: Since I’m all about keeping it honest here, let me just shout this from my internal blow horn: I FEEL FAT! And while many people have told me I don’t look 37 weeks [what’s that supposed to mean anyways?!] my inner thighs are telling me something different. Is it the fact I’m having a girl? Maybe. Is it the fact it’s 90 degrees out and my boys want to do activities OUTSIDE? Possibly. I also know I’m not drinking enough water because I have to pee every 2 minutes… so basically it could be a variety of things adding to my weight gain. I know I need to cut myself some slack here. I’m growing a human—- and yes, it really is hot enough outside to cause swelling! But just let me say the past few days at the pool haven’t done much for Momma’s ego. I’m ready for sweater weather…
Diet: Watermelon. Grapes. Cottage Cheese. Goldfish. Repeat.
Sleep: Oh sleep… how I know you and I won’t meet again for a few more years. There are two things [well three things] affecting my sleep right now: the baby squishing my bladder and the two toddlers we moved into the same room. And I can’t control either!!!
Activities: Pictured below. Notice the theme?! WATER!
Next Up: The boys will be accompanying me to my doctor’s appointment this week [which have turned into weekly appointments]. I can’t wait to see the look on the doctor’s face when he opens the exam room door and sees me and my homeboys! I’m also in the market for some new nursing bras and baby onesies, so I’m looking forward to a night filled with online shopping this week. If you have any recommendations for favorite nursing bras I’d love to hear!
And just in case you want to read how this month differs from May’s Bumpdate, you can find all the details here! And if you don’t hear from me for an official July Bumpdate, well, consider yourself [or myself] lucky. Because sis arrived early!!!!
Note: Baby’s due date is July 13th.

The boys’ room looks adorable! Best of luck with the remaining weeks! I’m due July 24 (and have a boy who turned 2 last month), and for a couple of months already I’ve been getting “baby any day?” questions from perfect strangers. I can’t stand it. Nobody needs to comment on a pregnant woman’s size AT ALL. Good job staying healthy and sane!!
Katie says
Omg. Isn’t that the worst?!?! I have a friend who was very small while pregnant and got the “wow is it ok to be that small?!” Comment all the time. I think all comments should be off limits except “you look beautiful!!”
Katie says
Best of luck too btw 🙂 🙂

So much love to you for the honesty here. I can’t wait to see your sweet little girl!!! I can’t wait until we can text each other during late night feedings. 🙂
Katie says
Yessssss!!!!!! I can’t wait for that either. I’d love to hear what nursing bras or tanks you purchased!

How exciting that your baby girl is almost here! Your boys are so cute and I really like their room. That looks like a fun pool thing, unfortunately here in CA we’re in a drought, so no blow up pools for us.
Katie says
Thank you Brenda!! I’m sorry about the drought that makes for a hot summer. Lots of Popsicles and playtime inside I’m sure!

Wow! Your pregnancy has seemed to fly by, to me as a reader anyways. 😉 You got this momma, you’re in the home stretch!
My boys have been loving the sprinkler and visits to the lake these last few hot days.
Combining rooms is something that always makes me nervous. We need to move boy number three out of our room soon but I’m not sure how the older two would do with him in their room yet…
Katie says
How did the two boys do with the switch together?!

Hi! Congrats on your 3rd pregnancy! I just gave birth to my second baby in April. I remember the last few weeks being pure torture of no sleep and chasing after my 2y/o. As for nursing bras,my favourites are from Thyme Maternity. I have tried about 10 different ones while nursing my first baby and I wore these bras for almost the full 2.5 years that she nursed and I wear these on days that I actually put on a bra while nursing baby number 2. http://www.thymematernity.com/en/746656.html?cgid=nursing-baby-nursing-bras&dwvar_746656_color=Nude#start=1. I see you live in Detroit, but a short trip across the border into Windsor and you will find a Thyme Maternity Store. Our still low dollar=good deal for you!
As for nursing tanks, the absolute best ones I have found are the gilligan & o’malley ones from Target. Hands down. I don’t even wear a bra most days as these ones have a nice built in shelf bra. I wear them day and night and have them in every colour they sell. The above mentioned bra also works great under these tanks.

Hi Friend! Just catching up with you…
SO EXCITED for you to meet ‘sis’ – love that name – but can’t wait to hear her real name! You sound to me like a totally normal pregnant lady with 2 little people. Been there, done that. And it was so wonderful. Per the inner thighs umm, issue. Yes you’ll be hungry when nursing. But you’ll be burning a zillion calories – and have even less time to eat. (Remember, nursing with a little person crawling on you – and then demanding your attention as soon as you’re done nursing?!) So eat when you need to now. And know it’ll all work itself out!
And…can you please come design my kids’ rooms?? I LOVE what you did with J & A’s room. Those colors! Those dinos! That book wall!!
So excited to meet/see your newest blessing! (:
