August 13, 2015 By Katie

My order this week! Lots of fresh fruits and veggies… I’m doing lots of recipe testing this weekend folks!

Before kids grocery shopping was a hobby of mine. I went to the store every other day, took my time in the produce section, and even made friends with some store clerks. Remember, I worked from home so it was essentially my time with other people before sitting behind a computer. But those days of mindless shopping have changed. Now with tugging two in tow, I essentially go in and out of the grocery store as fast as possible. And will even wake up extra early so I can get the store before Ted goes off to work. What fun is that?!

#joydelivered! Joey also prefers to grocery shop from home…

I was discussing my change in food shopping habits with a fellow blogger and mom, Rachel from Rachel Cooks, when she let me in on her shopping secret: Door to Door Organics! If you are not familiar, Door to Door Organics [DTDO] is an online grocery store that offers a variety of organic, local products—- and their mission is simple: DTDO wants to help people like me and you make easy, healthy food choices while supporting the communities in which we live. From organic produce to dairy products to artisan breads and more, you place your customized order online [yes, fully customized] and within days a box full of delicious foods lands on your doorstep. Now if only I could have a cup of hot coffee delivered to my house once a week I think I’d be in heaven!

When you initially sign up for DTDO, you decide which sized produce box you’d like. While each week’s produce box is a surprise, DTDO offers you a chance to preview your box online a few days prior to your delivery day. DTDO lets you swap out up to five of your items, which is great if your family has their favorite produce like mine. You can also select your preferences so that things you don’t like will never show up in your box, and things you do like will be added more frequently. All produce, no matter what you choose, is USDA Certified Organic, and sourced locally whenever possible. There’s also an option to add-on groceries besides produce, such as eggs, gourmet cheese, and seafood to name a few. Essentially you could do all of your grocery shopping ONLINE! Let me repeat. You do NOT have to lug your kiddos to the grocery store for this service folks…

You can do your meal planning on the DTDO website too! There’s a section dedicated to recipes made with all the goodies available on the DTDO website.

To give you an idea of what you might find in a weekly box, here’s a video of what was delivered to my doorstep this week. I ordered the large produce box but DTDO offers 4 different sizes to best fit your needs. Because we tend to order the same produce each week, you’ll often see these fruits and veggies in my recipes on Mom to Mom Nutrition! Note: Joey is front and center when it comes to deliveries at our house. And he was extra excited to see the #joydelivered box!

You’ll notice the video was cut short because we had to move the unpacking to the kitchen… but overall Joey loved this week’s delivery!

On deck this week! Or should I say “in my kitchen” this week with DTDO!

Now beyond delivering healthy and delicious food, the Door to Door Organics website offers a ton of helpful services, like a meal planner and a “Shop By Recipe” feature, allowing you to quickly purchase all the ingredients you need for a week of healthy meals.

Meats, eggs, breads, and more, you can purchase much more than produce on the DTDO website!

You might have guessed I’m a big fan of DTDO [maybe they’ll start delivering my coffee too?!], I’m thrilled to offer a special discount for all of my readers. Simple use the code “MOMTOMOM” to save $10.00 off your first order on their website!
