Thank you to the Michigan Apple Committee for sponsoring this post!

There’s something about the holiday season that gets me in the mood to turn on the oven, put on an apron, and bring out the sugar! Because I’m always trying to find ways to mix something healthy with that sweet, sweet sugar, I put on my baker’s hat and came up with this kid-friendly pie recipe for the Michigan Apple Committee: easy apple pie bites!

If there’s one food that reminds me of my childhood, it’s Michigan apples. From school lunch to an after soccer practice snack with a little bit of peanut butter, Michigan apples were my go-to. And they are becoming a fan favorite in with my toddlers now! I love passing on food traditions to my young children, especially when they are healthy ones! Oh and let’s not forget the little hand-held indulgences too, like these apple pie bites!

The best part is that these easy apple pie bites are made with minimal ingredients and taste JUST like the classic holiday dessert without all the fuss. You know I’m not about the fuss, especially when it comes to baking. I even considered having the kids help me roll-up the apple pie bites, but then I caught Joey dipping his fingers in the cinnamon-sugar mixture and decided they were better off hanging with Dad while I made them. Because both of the boys are Michigan apple fans and LOVE when we have rolls with dinner, I figured this combination would make them pretty happy… and Momma didn’t disappoint!

Are you an apple pie fan? Then you have to try this easy apple pie bites recipe! Perfect for any holiday celebration or heck, if you’re ever in the mood for a slice of pie. Which for me happens to be quite often. Lucky for those cinnamon-sugar loving boys of mine. Note: I chose Michigan Braeburn apples for this recipe because not only are they crisp and firm for snacking [my favorite kind of apple], but their heartiness makes them ideal for baking!
