Our 2024 Reset + Pink Eye Spreads, FAST!

February 12, 2024 By Katie

It took me a minute to do the math… but it’s been exactly 13 days since I last wrote a blog post [gaming with the Serbinski’s]. 13 days! There goes my goal of writing 1-3 posts per week… WOOF! Actually, forget the woof. One look at my face and you know how I feel about that.

Long story endless, I needed a reset in January. There’s a lot that the holiday season brings up for this Momma [along with pretty much every human being], and yeah, I needed the reset. The reset looked or still looks like this: women’s recovery meetings, some type of exercise every day, and most importantly, more consistent connection with God. A few of you know [or maybe all of you know?!] I’m a relationship person. I LOVE BEING IN A RELATIONSHIP! Sorry for the shouting.

But when I focus on my relationship with God FIRST, then my relationship with SELF, things just seem to go a lot smoother around here. Life is full of lessons and blessings… and I surely have both- when I choose to look for the good!

Lesson: Slow down and don’t rush to get your van in the garage on a snowy night.
Blessing: He started the PINK EYE PANDEMIC, but I also got some extra 1:1 with my big dude. I could just hang with him all day…
Another blessing! This guy was the 2nd to get pink eye. We had some quality 1:1 time too!

Lucky for Mom, once my reset was underway, we basically went through 10 days of rotating pink eye. PARENTING IS FUN THEY SAY!

Parenting actually is kind of fun, when you have people to share the chaos with- laughs and all. My Mom has pretty much been my right-hand man since my 2024 reset and I couldn’t ask for anything more. I mean, Nana did the drops!

Now you know why things have been a little quiet around here… but stay tuned. Because pink eye is DONE. I did a TV segment in Lansing last week [hey hey Mom’s getting her groove back!] and I cannot wait to share the latest and greatest on heart-healthy eating. Oh, and skeleton meal planning. Have you heard of it?! I’ll share that trick soon too!

Recipes coming soon for overnight oats and chia seed pudding!
Speaking of “groove back,” I’ve decided I’m living my Mob Wife Era. And probably have been since I wore a black dress to sophomore year homecoming. “Self-care looks good on you, Mom!” I’ll give you one guess as to who said that…

Thanks for hanging out and waiting for GOOD to hit your inbox. It’s there if we look for it!
