Lean Beef Cheesesteak Skillet

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ yellow onion, diced
  • ½ green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 pound lean ground beef [93% lean or leaner]
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 1 ½ teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  1. Heat olive oil in a large case iron skillet or large fry pan. Add onions and green bell pepper. Sautee until tender, about 7-10 minutes.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Once beef is cooked through, add Worcestershire sauce, broth and seasonings. Bring to a boil.
  3. Turn down heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and serve immediately with whole wheat rolls or flatbread.
