Easy Green Beans {2 Ways}

Ingredients
  • 3 cups fresh green beans, trimmed [about 1 pound]
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ½ yellow onion, diced
  • 2 cups button mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
  1. Put green beans in a microwave-safe bowl with water. Cover tightly and microwave on high for 4 minutes. Remove cover, drain, and set aside.
  2. While the beans are cooking, melt butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté
  3. onions, mushrooms and garlic until tender and mushrooms begin to brown, about 10 minutes.
  4. Add green beans and stir to combine and warm the beans. Season with salt and pepper and serve.
